Popular Education Course

“No pedagogy is neutral”
– Paulo Freire

This course is an invitation to explore the thought and practice of Paulo Freire—one of the most influential educators of the 20th century—through our own experiences and territories.

We will reflect on what it means to educate for social transformation and how to build knowledge through dialogue, participation, and dignity.

The course is primarily aimed at our Spanish teachers, but it will also be open to members of community organizations, with the goal of sharing and strengthening the methodology of popular education in our collective processes.

As part of our commitment to language justice, the course will be taught in both Spanish and Haitian Creole, so that everyone can learn in their own language and from their own history.

Pre-registration is now open!

Send an email to universityofresistance@unir-haiti.org with the subject “Pre-registration Popular Education Course” and we will send you more information as soon as the course becomes available.
