“Creating to Reconnect” is the third phase of a journey we have been collectively weaving. Before this, we went through Disconnecting to Reconnect and Planting to Reconnect, two essential moments that allowed us to question, pause, and look again at our territories through care and awareness.
Today we take another step forward: creating as an active way of inhabiting, defending, and sustaining life.
These three campaigns are part of a single commitment: to build real alternatives for defense and resistance in our territories, grounded in everyday life.
Creating as an act of resistance
In a context marked by multiple crises—economic, social, and environmental—choosing to create is not a minor gesture. It is a political stance.
To create is to refuse to depend exclusively on external solutions.
To create is to trust our knowledge and our collective capacities.
To create is to transform everyday life into a space of dignity.
Initiatives already in motion
We are currently supporting four community-based experiences that reflect this commitment to self-made solutions:
Ecological sanitary pad production, led by Rachelle, a young woman from the north of the country, who promotes sustainable alternatives to everyday consumption and addresses the lack of access to hygiene products.
Compost systems installation in northern Haiti, supported by Altha in the community of Sabane Longue, near the border with the Dominican Republic. This initiative aims to recover natural fertilization practices and strengthen the relationship with the land.
Home gardens, where more than 15 crops are integrated into a single space, promoting food autonomy and agricultural knowledge. This initiative is led by Lucmail in the southeast of the country.
Ecoladrillos (eco-bricks) in a school, as an educational and environmental strategy that involves children and young people in caring for their surroundings. This experience is led by Marie Mode, a teacher at a school in Kap Wouj, Jacmel.
Each of these initiatives is a concrete response to real problems, but also a way of imagining different futures.

Saying yes to life
“Creating to Reconnect” is, at its core, a collective affirmation:
Yes to autonomy.
Yes to caring for the territory.
Yes to creativity as a form of resistance.
Because creating is also a way of resisting.
Connecting, sharing, strengthening
In many territories, there are communities and organizations that are also creating everyday responses.
If you are part of an organization or initiative working in this direction, we would like to connect, share learnings, and strengthen these processes collectively.
We invite you to write to us and join this path of creation and resistance. Because when experiences connect, they become stronger.
