A notebook that compiles excerpts from books, poems, interviews, accompanied by activities to complement and provide starting points for immersion in Hispanic literature.

The word ‘trueque’ is used to refer to the exchange of ‘something,’ characterized by the absence of money as a medium of exchange. While there is a utility value in what is exchanged, barter also takes into account the subjective values that people assign to that ‘something.’

Barter, exchange, and ‘tequio’ all carry the imprint of solidarity, a key element in the construction of communities throughout human history.
